ABSTRACT
RESUMEN La retención dentaria constituye una de las principales entidades patológicas que a diario acuden a los servicios estomatológicos. En principio el tratamiento de la misma es la exéresis quirúrgica, sin obviar la idea de que todos los dientes incluidos con valor estético y funcional debe valorarse la posibilidad de ser colocado en la arcada dentaria, lo cual solo es posible con el concurso de especialidades como la ortodoncia y cirugía máxilo facial. Se presenta el caso de una paciente de 10 años de edad con el incisivo superior derecho retenido, la cual recibió tratamiento multidisciplinario por ortodoncia, cirugía máxilo facial, periodoncia y E.G.I obteniéndose finalmente magníficos resultados.
ABSTRACT Dental retention is one of the main pathological entities that daily come to stomatological services. In principle the treatment of the same is the surgical exeresis, without forgetting the idea that all teeth included with aesthetic and functional value should be assessed the possibility of being placed in the dental arch, which is only possible with the help of specialties such as orthodontics and maxillo facial surgery. We present the case of a 10-year-old patient with a retained upper right incisor, who received multidisciplinary treatment for orthodontics, maxillo facial surgery, periodontology and E.G.I, finally obtaining magnificent results.
